While we have expanded past this original use case, we still partner with people across the country in the construction industry. The obvious use case is to monitor the property/project for theft. And this is a big part of how we serve the construction industry. However, as more construction companies and developers use LVT Units, a new use case has arisen and that is to help resolve liability claims without costly litigation.
Construction sites are a maze of ditches, exposed wires and pipes, discarded scraps, and other potential hazards. While the work crew is used to the site and knows how to handle such dangers, those who trespass after hours do not. Trespassers, vandals, and thieves are a common problem for construction sites. They steal tools and materials and damage the property. However, they also are the cause of many liability lawsuits. People wander onto the site, not aware of the dangers, and injure themselves by falling in an unseen ditch or by attempting to use or move the equipment.
LVT Units record 24/7 which makes them ideal to cover this type of after-hours liability. The unit’s high-quality video is ideal for evidence and allows developers to prove that the intruder was injured because they were trespassing. Thus, the developer is no longer liable for the injury and avoids high-cost litigation.
The LVT Unit also helps in this situation because it acts as a deterrent. The size, lights, and the two-way speaker act as deterrents and warnings to potential intruders that they are trespassing in a dangerous area.
Aspect Homes
Aspect homes is an up-and-coming residential development company with current projects in Nevada. They found their niche with infill developments where they focus on a small lot product that maintains a lower price point. Before partnering with LVT, they were searching for a cost effective way to monitor their job sites to prevent theft. Furthermore, they did not want to waste time with hours of research and installation.

Wohali Partners
Wohali Partners was established in 2017 when three partners came together to build the Wohali Development in Coalville, Utah. The remote development is a 1,500 acre parcel that will include more than 500 high-end homes, multiple golf courses, a spa and clubhouse, cabins, restaurants, and an amphitheater. Before partnering with LVT, the partners were concerned about protecting their assets and equipment as well as any liability associated with active construction sites.
With the deployment of a LVT D3 Mobile Security Unit, Wohali has had zero incidents on their property. The partners enjoy the peace of mind that the unit gives them and the ability to check in on the development at any time even though they are more than an hour away. Managing Partner David Boyden said, “We have limited access to utilities or power, so the fact that we have security that is solar powered and is completely mobile is awesome.”
